Sound Power and Power Consumption Prediction Methods for Fan-Cooled Devices: a paper summarizing advancements in Nelson Acoustics’ ability to predict noise emission and power consumption at early design stages.  This work will be described at Noise Con 11.

Effect of Noise on Disk Drives and Servers: Nelson Acoustics provides measurement and analysis support on a project to document the I/O performance of many types of drives in the presence of high levels of noise.

Basic Acoustics Seminar for NIOSH: A 2-day course was customized to concentrate on mine noise measurement, dosimetry, and analysis.

New method of measuring traffic barrier wall reflections in situ: Nelson Acoustics has developed an MLS-based sound absorption measurement method for UT’s Center for Transportation Research and TxDOT.  This work will be described at Noise Con 11/TRB ADC40.

TWA Calculator v2 software shipped to NASA Glenn Research Center: New custom “TWA Calculator” software has completed beta testing and shipped to NASA Glenn Research Center.  The software performs occupational noise dose calculations for a user-defined sequence of events and permits the study of the relationship of each to the overall dose received, and to the relevant criteria.  New features allow importing and exporting scenarios.
